Job: Assistant Professor -- Mesoscale Meteorology
University of Nebraska
Geosciences Department

Applications are invited for a tenure-track position as Assistant Professor in the Department of Geosciences at the University of Nebraska -- Lincoln, with specialization in Mesoscale Meteorology and Severe Weather.

This hire is one component of a broader initiative within the Meteorology/Climatology Program to study meteorological hazards and climate change.

The candidate should provide evidence of (or demonstrate strong potential for) research and teaching excellence and must hold a Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science or a closely related discipline at the time of appointment.

The successful candidate will be expected to participate in teaching and curricular development of undergraduate and graduate courses in Mesoscale Meteorology and Severe Weather, as well as participate in teaching Synoptic Meteorology or Dynamic Meteorology (for undergraduate majors).

The successful candidate will also be expected to advise and direct graduate students and to develop a rigorous research program which is supported by external funding.
