Assistant Professor -- Introductory Biology
University of Delaware

The Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Delaware (UD), invites applications for a Continuing Non-tenure-track (CNTT) Assistant Professor Position for teaching Introductory Biology, to begin Fall, 2010.

One of the oldest institutions of higher education in this country, UD offers students the latest in instructional and research technology, combined with the rich tradition of the Institution. A Land-Grant, Sea-Grant, Urban-Grant and Space-Grant institution, UD is located in Newark, DE, on the I-95 corridor, halfway between Washington, D.C. and New York City.

We are seeking an individual who is broadly trained in Biology and enjoys teaching at the introductory level.

Responsibilities include teaching introductory courses to majors and non-majors, some curriculum and administrative responsibilities for course-associated laboratories (including managing Teaching Assistants), student advising and Department and College service responsibilities.

Minimum qualifications for the position are a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences and two years of experience in teaching at the college level.

This position offers a strong, supportive setting for teaching in the environment of an active research Department.

As with Tenure-track Faculty, CNTT Faculty Members are provided with professional development funds and training opportunities, are eligible for promotion and sabbaticals and receive full and generous benefits as part of their compensation packages.
