A Doctorate (NQF level 10) in Physics with at least seven years of lecturing experience at tertiary education level and/or industrial experience or an equivalent combination of relevant professional experience. Competence to teach at both under- and post-graduate levels in at least three of the following courses: Classical Physics, Quantum Mechanics, Statistical Mechanics, Mathematical Methods in Physics, Electronics/Electrical Circuits and Instrumentation Physics. Competence to teach Geophysics will be an advantage. Sound research profile including ten publication in peer-reviewed journals/Books/conference proceedings and successful supervision of three Master’s (research) students. Ability to write grant proposals and experience in curriculum/programme development are highly recommended.
Candidates with a lesser profile may be considered for Senior Lecturer position.
