The Center for Research and Advanced Studies (Cinvestav) at Monterrey, Mexico, is seeking candidates to fill a faculty position at the Associate/Full Professor level, in the area of Cellular and Molecular Biology. Nevertheless, excellent applicants in other research areas related to Biology will also be considered. Please note that the availability of the position is subject to final budget approval.

Responsibilities include active research, graduate teaching, and student advising. Requirements include earned doctorates in fields related to Cellular and Molecular Biology, at least five years of previous independent research experience, outstanding communication skills, and commitment to teaching excellence. Candidates must have the research achievements (demonstrated with a scholarly publication record) and previous experience in advising graduate students in order to belong (or to be accepted in a short period of time) to the National System of Researchers (SNI) at the Level-II. Furthermore, candidates must prove, through previous research results or future research proposal, the ability of developing collaborative research in multidisciplinary projects involving Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, and Medicine.

Cinvestav is a leading research institution in Mexico, with activities focused on scientific research, postgraduate education, and technology development. It employs about 600 full-time researchers in 29 academic departments distributed in 9 campuses throughout the country. Cinvestav Monterrey offers MSc and PhD programs in Biomedical Engineering and Physics, which are accredited to the National Council of Science and Technology (Conacyt), and all students are granted economical support during their studies. The successful candidate will help increase research activity, as well as maintain the MSc and PhD programs at levels of excellence.
