applications for a full-time, nine-month lecturer position in chemistry (renewable annually), starting August 16, 2018. A typical teaching load will consist of four lecture courses in general chemistry, with the possibility of teaching chemistry for non-science majors or organic chemistry. The Chemistry Department recently instituted a complete revision of its General Chemistry curriculum with an eye towards improving student success in both General and Organic Chemistry. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Chemistry, be willing and able to teach undergraduate general chemistry lecture courses, have a strong interest in developing innovative pedagogies for the 1st year chemistry course sequence, have strong written communication skills, and experience teaching general chemistry.

A complete application includes a cover letter, curriculum vitae, description of how you would incorporate innovative pedagogies in a General Chemistry class of about 80 students, copies of undergraduate and graduate transcripts, and three letters of recommendation, at least one of which must address teaching potential.
