The Science and Mathematics Faculty in the College of Integrated Sciences and Arts at the Polytechnic campus of Arizona State University is seeking a highly motivated, energetic and passionate individual to fill an Instructional Professional position in biology with a principle focus on human anatomy and physiology. The Instructional Professional will be part of a team that includes Applied Biology faculty and other instructional staff dedicated to quality instruction. Instructional Professionals are primarily responsible for laboratory instruction. Additional responsibilities include the design of curriculum and instructional programs, modification of lab exercises, and delivery of instruction. Instructional Professionals are responsible for set-up and take down of labs and grading of student assignments. Teaching load is typically 4 to 5 labs per semester or an equivalent combination of recitations and laboratory sections. Course load is determined by the faculty head. This is not a tenure-track position.

This is a fiscal year appointment 7/1/2017 to 6/30/2018, and may be prorated based upon actual start date. This Instructional Professional position is a fixed-term, benefits-eligible, fiscal-year, academic professional appointment with no continuing/probationary implications. Renewal is contingent upon availability of funds, satisfactory performance, and the needs of the university. Salary is competitive and dependent upon qualifications, experience, and rank.

Required Qualifications:
 Master’s degree in Biology or closely related field at time of appointment.
 Evidence of excellent teaching ability.

Desired Qualifications:
 A Ph.D. degree from an accredited institution in Biology or closely related field at the time of appointment
 Demonstrated experience teaching human anatomy and physiology laboratory exercises at the undergraduate college level including human anatomy and physiology laboratory exercise design, preparation, implementation, and clean up.
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
 Experience in course management systems such as Blackboard and online homework systems
