Post Doc/Research Associate – (170287)
Description

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University’s Center for Space and Atmospheric Research (CSAR) are currently recruiting for a Post Doc to assist with basic scientific research on acoustic and acoustic-gravity wave propagation and dynamics within realistic atmospheres, using high-resolution large-eddy and direct-numerical simulation techniques. It will require collaboration with research groups both on and off campus, and includes contributions to multiple sponsored research projects.
Responsibilities include:

Scientific research
Dissemination/publication of results
To assist with educational activities as appropriate within funded projects (or if funded specifically for this purpose).

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D and the following: Atmospheric acoustic and acoustic-gravity wave dynamics using numerical techniques, especially atmospheric computational fluid dynamics (CFD); experience in scientific communications (presentation, publication); numerical methods (finite volume or finite difference methods); signal and data processing (Fourier and wavelet analysis, filtering), with understanding of high performance computing environments, programming in Fortran or C/C++, and data visualization in Matlab, Python, and/or Paraview/VTK.
Candidates may be considered at the Postdoc or Research Associate levels, depending on experience. Review of applicants will begin immediately, however the position will only be filled pending availability of support. The initial term shall
