The department of Information and Service Management has a strong focus on empirical studies and active cooperation with companies and prestigious universities. Most of our projects have both national and international partners, and the results of our research are targeted at top tier academic journals. Lecturer in Cybersecurity
We are now looking for a lecturer to join us and support developing our growing portfolio of business-oriented cybersecurity study modules at the Department of Information and Service Management. The position is a full-time fixed-term lecturer position for three years and the position will be filled at either University teacher, Lecturer/University lecturer or Senior University Lecturer level. Your role and goals
The successful candidate will participate in planning, developing and/or delivering university level courses and study modules on various business-oriented topics related to cybersecurity and digitalization (e.g. Information Security Management, Ethics of Digital Innovation, Data Protection and Privacy, Digital Resilience and Sustainability). The candidate should also have the ability to plan, develop, and teach study modules suitable for executive education and life wide learning programs. The successful candidate is expected to conduct research, supervise master’s and bachelor’s theses, and participate in preparing grant proposals for acquiring external research and teaching funding.

The successful candidate will join the Information Systems Science research group and collaborate closely with Assistant Professor Hadi Ghanbari, as the superior in the role. Your experience and ambitions
We are looking for applicants who are completing or have completed their doctoral studies in information systems science, business information technology, or a closely related field. The applicants should have demonstrated their ability to teach university level courses and executive education courses, ideally on cybersecurity. The applicants should have demonstrated their ability to conduct research independently and the potential or ability to publish in high-quality scholarly journals. The positions require fluent skills in the English language. Finnish proficiency is considered an advantage. The candidate should be familiar with modern pedagogical approaches (e.g. constructive learning, case-based learning, project based learning) and have the ability to effectively use digital tools and resources in teaching. The position is associated with a teaching load that is up to 50 % of yearly working time.
