About the opportunity A new opportunity has become available in School of Life and Environmental Sciences within the Faculty of Science. Our excellent life sciences research and teaching are shaping new approaches required to address a range of increasingly important challenges faced by the world that span a range of disciplinary areas.

In this research focused role you will participate in and continue a laboratory research program investigating how cell polarity is coordinated amongst cells in the plant shoot. You will also supervise Undergraduate students working on this topic and are expected to publish papers in high ranking peer reviewed journals.

About you

The candidate must have expert skills in the time-lapse imaging of Arabidopsis shoot tissues using confocal microscopy as well as an intimate knowledge of Arabidopsis shoot and primordium development. The candidate must also have excellent skills in general molecular biology techniques including gateway cloning as well as skills in cell biology, transformation and genetics and growing and managing Arabidopsis plants. Good written communication are skills required to write and publish scientific articles.

Specifically we are looking for a Postdoctoral Research Associate with:

•     PhD in plant developmental biology
•     Publications in the plant development field
•     Extensive experience with:
Confocal imaging of plant meristems
Working with Arabidopsis thaliana
Cloning and gene expression techniques
