Joint Institute with Zhejiang University City College, based in China
The University of Waikato has established a Joint Institute with Zhejiang University City College in Hangzhou, China. Students have the opportunity to graduate with one of three degrees offered there by the University of Waikato.
The position is based in China and applications are sought from suitably qualified people to contribute to the teaching and administrative requirements of the programmes taught at the Joint Institute by our School of Computing and Mathematical Sciences.
To be successful in the role you will have demonstrated experience teaching to large and small groups of students, in-depth knowledge of computer graphic design and experience working in an international organisation. Knowledge of Chinese culture, experience of teaching across cultures and the ability to work with students for whom English is not their first language are all important requirements. A relevant Masters degree is essential and a PhD would be advantageous.
Salary will be in the range of NZ$70,000 to $100,000 per year (paid in Chinese CNY), dependent on qualifications, skills and experience.

The appointment will start in August 2019 to include training before teaching at the Joint Institute starts in September 2019. Applicants must be eligible to receive a Foreign Expert Certificate (FEC) to meet the criteria for teaching staff at the Institute.
