CHEMISTRY INSTRUCTOR

Jefferson Community College, Watertown, NY, part of the State University of New York (SUNY) System is conducting a search for a full-time, tenure-track Chemistry Instructor to begin in August 2019. Responsibilities include teaching 18 contact hours per semester (lecture and laboratory) which may include evening, weekend, hybrid, and/or on-line classes, academic advising, curriculum development, and participation in College committees. The successful candidate will be expected to teach General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry in a Liberal Arts setting.

Required: Master’s degree in Chemistry; teaching experience

Preferred: PhD in Chemistry; College-level teaching experience; ability to apply a variety of teaching methods including online and hybrid formats; familiarity with instructional technology; strong written and oral communication skills; experience working with diverse populations; understanding of the community college philosophy.
