The Department of Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning at Tufts University is searching for a part‐time lecturer to teach a 1 credit graduate level course on Python - taught in Fall 2024 and in Spring 2025 (1 credit for each semester). A syllabus for how the course has been taught recently is available upon request.
Open to upper-level undergraduates and graduate students, the course introduces students the basics of Python and prepare the students to take more advanced programming classes. The topics covered include syntax and data types, reading and writing files, functions, lists and dictionaries, and using Jupyter lab notebooks.
This course will be taught virtually on the first four Fridays of Fall 2024 starting September 6 (9-11:30am), although it may be possible to negotiate a different time/day. Instructors must also be willing to offer the course online.
Qualifications
Candidates should have programming experience in Python as well as prior teaching experience. Candidates must show evidence of successful teaching.
