Senior Lecturer in Maritime Studies

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE), which is under the College of Engineering, aspires to be a leading school for Sustainable Urban Systems. Currently, it has over 50 faculty members and more than 1,500 students, and is rapidly expanding its range of educational and research activities. Its faculty has led major university-wide strategic research thrusts in space creation, water research and sustainable built environment. Moving forward, CEE is addressing critical problems in urban systems such as building structures and energy systems, sustainability of urban cities, and resiliency to natural and unnatural risks.

To fuel further development, we invite applications for a Senior Lecturer position in Maritime Studies.

 Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver high quality courses in Maritime studies that include both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Contribute to curriculum development and enhancement to ensure students receive world class teaching education
  • Conduct impactful research in areas related to Maritime studies and collaborate with colleagues within the department and across the university
  • Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students, fostering their intellectual and professional growth.
  • Contribute to the School and university’s service activities, including committee participation, outreach and engagement with industry partners

Qualifications:

  • Possess at least a Master’s degree in relevant disciplines in Maritime Studies from a reputable university
  • Demonstrated strong excellence in teaching and curriculum development
  • Industry experience in the maritime sector is a plus
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive academic environment
