A postdoctoral position is available immediately in Dr. Emilia Galperin laboratory in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry in the College of Medicine at the University of Kentucky to work on externally funded, multi-year projects. The overall goal of the lab is to understand the molecular mechanisms of spatial and temporal regulation of signal transduction. Particular area of interest is relevance of mechanisms controlling assembly of signaling complexes to human diseases.

The successful candidate will carry out an independent project on the mechanisms of cellular signaling in organismal development and congenital disease and will have opportunities to learn and utilize multidisciplinary experimental approaches including cell biology, advanced microscopy and various biophysical methods. Preference will be given to applicant with a strong background in molecular biology, cell biology/biochemistry, protein analysis and experience with protein phosphorylation and ubiquitination.

The successful applicant will be a highly motivated individual with good communication skills, will have a proven publication record, and the ability to work independently as well as within a group.

The applicant must currently have a Ph.D. in Biochemistry or a related field. The appointment will be for 1 year with renewal up to 5 years.
