Postdoctoral Research Position at Sultan Qaboos University, Sultanate of Oman

A postdoctoral position is available in the lab of Prof. Osama Abou-Zied, Department of Chemistry, Sultan Qaboos University (SQU). Good experience in working with femtosecond laser techniques, preferably fluorescence upconversion and transient absorption, is expected. The potential candidate will work in our new femtosecond laser lab and will use fluorescence upconversion/downconversion and transient absorption techniques to study the ultrafast dynamics of nanoparticles and organic dyes for solar energy applications. The work will also involve nanoparticles preparation and physical characterization in the Nanotechnology Research Center at SQU. For more details, please see our recent papers (J. Phys. Chem. Lett. 2017, 8, 5603-5608 and Phys. Chem. Chem. Phys. 2017, 19, 1395-1407). We are also upgrading our system to measure near-IR upconversion and transient absorption signals.

The position is available for two years, starting anytime during this year. The salary will be 1250 Omani Rials/month (1 Rial ~ 2.6 US$), tax-free.
