PRODiG+ Fellow - Computational Environmental Science

Stony Brook University's Institute for Advanced Computational Science (IACS) invites applications through the State University of New York (SUNY) Promoting Recruitment, Opportunity, Diversity, Inclusion and Growth Plus (PRODiG Plus) fellowship program in the area of computational environmental science.

The PRODiG Plus program is designed to achieve two primary goals, (1) increasing the number and share of excellent diverse faculty committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion; and (2) strengthening the pipeline for retention and support of these candidates. The SUNY PRODiG Plus Fellows Program offers a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure-track faculty position at the lecturer level to commence in Fall 2024. The fellow
will be a part of a mentored research environment and, with successful performance and demonstrated contribution to inclusion, diversity, and equity, will be invited to join the tenure-track faculty at Stony Brook University after two years. For more information please see the SUNY PRODiG Plus website: https://www.suny.edu/PRODIG-PLUS/

We seek candidates whose research advances computational methods in any area of climate, energy, biodiversity, or environmental science, inclusive of physical science, social science, and engineering aspects of climate change and environment sustainability. This candidate would be expected to work interdisciplinarily and could be based in any department affiliated with the IACS. The successful candidate would have
the opportunity to leverage Stony Brook University's high-performance computing resources and/or contribute to Stony Brook's leadership of the New York Climate Exchange.

The PRODiG Plus Fellowship is open to any and all prospective candidates regardless of race, color, national origin, or sex, and is consistent with all current governing federal and state nondiscrimination law. All application submissions will be assessed and evaluated in accordance with the required eligibility criteria.

Stony Brook prides itself on attracting an incredibly diverse student body, including many first-generation immigrants and first- generation college students. Recent studies have shown that Stony Brook is one of the top universities in the U.S. for supporting the upward mobility of its students.

Applications should be received by 3/1/2025 for best consideration, although applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
