As part of the recently funded Transregional-22 Sonder-Forschungs Beriech (SFB), groups from both the Biological and Medical Faculties in Munich, Marburg and Borstel/Lübeck will work as an interdisciplinary consortium to address "Allergic Immune Responses in the Lung."

Project A23 of this SFB, entitled, "The influence of helminth-induced immune-regulation on allergic responses in the lung" focuses on the mechanisms of the geohelminth Schistosoma mansoni in protecting the onset of asthma. In particular, research focuses on cellular mechanisms, both in vivo and in vitro.

For our three year Ph.D. programme, we are seeking an excellent and highly motivated Ph.D. student interested in the field of Allergy, Immunology and Parasitology.

Experience in immunological (cell culture, flow cytometry) and molecular methods (western blot) are beneficial, but not essential.

German candidates should hold a Master's degree in Natural Sciences and international students should hold an equivalent grade to German University standards.
