The Discipline of Environmental Science within the Faculty of Applied Science conducts research and provides education in Interdisciplinary Environmental Science and Management, with special emphasis on Land Management, Vegetation and Wildlife Management, Environmental Chemistry and Conservation Biology.
The Discipline is well-known and respected for its research and teaching, postgraduate programs and related professional activity in Integrated Catchment Management, Water Science and Freshwater Ecology, Environmental and Analytical Chemistry, Invasive Species Management and Wildlife Genetics.
Research and postgraduate training is conducted through the Institute for Applied Ecology.
The Discipline contributes to the research and leads the postgraduate education programs of the Cooperative Research Centres for eWater and Invasive Animals, both of which are headquartered on campus.
We are seeking a dynamic, innovative person to conduct research and teach in Spatial Analysis and Ecological Modelling. Persons with research and teaching experience in the application of spatial analysis and ecological modelling in a landscape context -- Fire Ecology, Vegetation Management, Catchment Management, Climate Change or Protected Area Management -- are encouraged to apply.
To join our expanding and dynamic team, you need to have a doctorate and professional experience, demonstrated capacity or strong potential to design, coordinate and deliver innovative courses in Spatial Analysis and Ecological Modelling. You will also have the capacity to supervise graduate students and a track record in research, publications and securing research funding.

The position will be offered on a seven year, fixed-term, full-time contract, with continuation subject to performance assessment at the end of a probation period.
