The Discipline of Biomedical Science, within the Faculty of Applied Science, conducts interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary research and provides undergraduate and postgraduate education in areas pertaining to human health and well-being and the structure and function of the human body at a molecular, cellular and whole body level.
Biomedical Sciences is composed of collaborating researchers active across scientific disciplines that include Chemistry, Biological Chemistry, Public Health, Pharmaceutical Science, Virology, Cell Biology, Immunology, Microbiology, Forensic Science, Cancer Research and Phytotherapy.
The Discipline is well-known and respected for its research and teaching, postgraduate programs and related professional activity in Biomedical Sciences.
Research and postgraduate training by staff of the discipline is conducted through the National Centre for Integrative Sciences (NATCIS), an internationally recognised research centre.
We are seeking a dynamic, innovative person, with a research profile relevant to the biological and biomedical science strengths of the Faculty, to conduct research and teach subjects in Chemistry.
To join our expanding and dynamic team, you need to have a doctorate and professional experience in Organic Chemistry and demonstrated capacity or strong potential to design, coordinate and deliver innovative subjects in Protein Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and/or Pharmaceutical Science.
The successful applicant will have the ability to establish a strong collaborative research program in Biomedical Science, specifically Protein Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and/or Pharmaceutical Science.
You will also have capacity to supervise graduate students and a track record in research, publications and securing research funding.

The position will be offered for up to a seven year, fixed-term, full-time contract, with a probationary period of 2 years and 4 months.
A continuing position may be secured by subsequent promotion to Associate Professor.
