We seek an exceptional M.S. student to conduct independent research on the interactions of microbes with mineral surfaces and metals.
Activities may include conducting traditional geochemical and cutting edge microscopic or spectroscopic experiments, to better understand the fundamental mechanisms of biogeochemical processes.
Opportunities exist to interact closely with collaborators within NCSU and at other institutions.
Related activities include laboratory work and possibly field work; data analysis; report and manuscript preparation; and, presentation of research at local, regional and national meetings.
All GRAs participate in our teaching program, by assisting in the instruction of two laboratory sections of the Introductory Undergraduate Soils Course or an equivalent teaching experience.
