The Department of Natural Sciences invites applications for the following positions, beginning in Fall 2010.
Assistant Professor of Biology (1): A Ph.D. in Animal Physiology or related area, with teaching and, preferably, postdoctoral experience. Teaching duties will include Comparative Animal Physiology, upper division undergraduate courses in the applicant’s specialty (such as Neurobiology, Endocrinology, etc.) and participation in Introductory Biology.
Assistant Professor of Biology (2): A Ph.D. with specialization in Biochemistry, Pathology, Pharmacology or related area, with teaching and, preferably, postdoctoral experience. Teaching duties will include Biochemistry, upper division undergraduate courses in the applicant’s specialty (for example, Histology, Toxicology, Pharmacology, etc.) and participation in Introductory Biology.
The Assistant Professors are expected to develop and maintain an active, externally funded research program, leading to peer-reviewed publications.
The area of research is open and should complement the existing Faculty strengths and reflect a commitment to undergraduate research.
A research laboratory, modest start-up funds and teaching released time are available.
