Faculty Positions -- Biological Sciences
Disease Ecology: We seek Faculty Candidates who use integrative approaches to study mechanisms that influence disease transmission and/or dynamics. Candidates are sought with cross-disciplinary interests in areas of Infectious Disease Ecology, including Epidemiology, Theoretical Modeling, Ecological Processes or Evolutionary Pathways, that influence disease pathogens or their vectors. Individuals are expected to participate in the initiatives of the Eck Institute for Global Health. Hiring is expected at the Assistant Professor level. Apply or inquire, at:
disease9@nd.edu
Cell Biology/Physiology: We invite applications for two Tenure-track Faculty Positions in the areas of Cell Biology and Physiology. We seek candidates with research expertise and interests consistent with our initiatives in Cancer Research, Stem Cell and iPS Cell Biology, Endocrinology and the Neurosciences. A track record using animal and cell-based models to study disease or developmental processes is desirable. Hiring is expected at the Assistant Professor level, but mid-career candidates will be considered. Apply or inquire, at:
cellbio9@nd.edu
Epidemiology: We seek Faculty Candidates who use epidemiological approaches to study diseases of global health importance. Applicants using theoretical modeling or field-based systems to study disease control or transmission for any pathogen or vector of concern in developing countries, are encouraged to apply. Individuals are expected to participate in the initiatives of the Eck Institute for Global Health. Hiring is expected at the Associate Professor level, but candidates at any level will be considered. Apply or inquire, at:
epidem9@nd.edu
Ecology: We invite applications for a Tenure-track Faculty Position in the area of Ecology. We particularly encourage applications from Ecologists whose research intersects with existing programmatic strengths in Aquatic Ecology, Environmental Change and Conservation Biology. Interest in the interdisciplinary activities of the Center for Aquatic Conservation and the Environmental Research Center is a positive. Hiring is expected at the Assistant Professor level. Apply or inquire, at:
ecology9@nd.edu
Applicants must have Ph.D.s, postdoctoral experience and demonstrated records of research excellence.
The successful candidates will be expected to establish vigorous, externally-funded research programs and to contribute to our Teaching Program, at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
The Department houses state-of-the-art genomics, bioinformatics and imaging cores; environmental chambers; greenhouses and wet lab space; BSL-3 containment laboratories; and, an AAALAC-accredited animal facility.
