The MPH Program, Lehman College, the senior college of The City University of New York, in the Bronx which specializes in Community Based Public Health and Health Equity, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor rank, to begin Fall 2010, to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in Environmental Health.
The MPH Program is situated in the Department of Health Sciences, but the candidate will also be expected to teach courses in Environmental Geography and Geographic Information Science in the Geographic Information Science (GI.Sc.) Program, in the Department of Environmental, Geographic and Geological Sciences (EGGS) which specializes in Health and Environmental Spatial Science, with a strong emphasis on Quantitative Analysis and Modeling. In addition to teaching, the candidate is also expected to advise students, engage in scholarly research and publication, seek outside funding, collaborate in developing a research agenda for the Programs and actively participate in Departmental and College committees and professional organizations.
Prospective candidates must have doctoral degrees in Public Health, Environmental Health/Geography (with a G.I.Sc. research focus) or related fields by time of appointment and demonstrate evidence of the potential for active research and publication.
