We are looking for highly motivated graduate students (as full time research assistant) in Master of Science at the Department of Wildlife, Sustainability, and Ecosystem Sciences, Tarleton State University. Upon the situation, he or she can start fall 2020 or Spring 2021.
The graduate students will work on the research projects sponsored from U.S. Department of Agriculture. The projects will focus on application of agricultural waste-derived biochar for agriculture and environmental remediation. Specific research activities will include: 1) Preparation and characterization of novel biochars from agricultural wastes, 2) Novel biochar for environmental and agricultural applications , 3) Effects of biochar amendment on nutrients, antibiotics and microbial pathogens in soil, plant and water, and 4) Biochar-based water treatment.
The graduate student will be hired as a full time research assistant in Dr. Eunsung Kan’s Laboratory (https://sites.google.com/site/eunsungkan/
). Highly competitive compensations will be provided.
The graduate student should have a B.S. in soil/plant science, biology, microbiology, chemistry, biochemistry, environmental science, environmental engineering, agricultural science, and any relevant disciplines. Any laboratory, research and intern experiences would be preferred.
