The Department of Biological Sciences at Auburn University invites applications for three non-tenure-track teaching focused faculty positions beginning Fall, 2024. We seek candidates who have the expertise to teach in our Introductory Biology courses, or sophomore-level Genetics, or sophomore-level Human Anatomy and Physiology courses, or a combination of these courses. The positions are minimum nine-month appointments with options available for summer teaching. These non-tenure track positions are renewable one-year contracts with renewal pending successful evaluations. Opportunities for promotion to senior lecturer will be available after five years.

Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, a cover letter detailing teaching experience, a statement of teaching philosophy, a representative sample of recent teaching evaluations, and the names and contact information of at least three professional references. The addition of an equity and inclusion statement describing how past and/or planned contributions to teaching, research, and/or service will serve to advance the mission of the College of Sciences and Mathematics in creating an inclusive environment is highly desirable.

The department has 37 faculty which includes 6 teaching-focused lecturers/senior lecturers, multiple laboratory coordinators, and over 100 graduate students.
