NTI-NTU Corporate Laboratory is a collaboration between Nanofilm Technologies International Limited (“Nanofilm”, “NTI”), Nanyang Technological University (“NTU”) and supported by Singapore under RIE2025. The Laboratory’s objective is to propel Innovation and Technologies commercialisation through NTU’s innovation and NTI’s deep technology. NTI-NTU Corporate Laboratory aligns with Singapore’s RIE2025 handbook – which emphasises the nation’s commitment to research and innovation, aiming to drive economic growth and address national challenges.
The Nanyang Technological University NTI-NTU Corporate Laboratory is seeking to hire a Research Fellow. The selected candidate will deposit and characterized oxide/nitride and other types of thin composite materials and thin film coatings.
Key Responsibilities:

Operate and optimize PVD and CVD plasma-based processes for advanced thin film deposition.

Perform oxide and nitride composite thin film deposition, followed by in-depth materials characterization using relevant techniques.

Conduct independent research, including experimental design, data collection, and interpretation, to support project objectives.

Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to develop experimental methods, troubleshoot process issues, and interpret complex data sets.

Utilize data analysis software, simulation tools, and relevant programming languages for modeling, process optimization, and reporting.

Manage the transition from lab-scale experimentation to scalable, production-ready solutions in collaboration with engineering teams.

Prepare and deliver comprehensive technical reports and documentation to fulfill grant requirements and internal/external stakeholder expectations.
Job Requirements:
-
Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, or a closely related field.

At least 2 years of combined specialized post-doctoral experience in industry or a recognized research institute.

Extensive research experience in the characterization of thin film composite coatings, with a strong emphasis on oxide and nitride composite thin film coatings.
