The Sonkusale Research Lab at Tufts University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position focused on the development of paper-based analytical devices (PADs) for biomedical diagnostics using colorimetric and/or fluorescent detection methods. This role is part of our translational research program to develop low-cost, point-of-care diagnostic platforms for clinical and global health applications.
We are seeking a motivated and creative researcher with strong training in chemistry or chemical engineering and a passion for next-generation diagnostic technologies. The position is based in the Boston area, offering a vibrant scientific ecosystem and opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration and career advancement.
Research Focus
The Sonkusale Lab is internationally recognized for its work at the intersection of nanotechnology, biosensing, and flexible bioelectronics. A key area of focus is the development of paper-based diagnostic tools for the detection of biomarkers in biological fluids such as blood, saliva, and sweat. These tools utilize colorimetric and fluorescent assays combined with smartphone-based imaging for quantitative and accessible diagnostic readouts.
