Position overview Position title: Lecturer
Salary range: The posted UC academic salary scales set the minimum pay at appointment. The current full-time salary range for this position is $64,329-$181,015.

Percent time: Positions may range from part time to full time.

Position description

The Department of Chemistry at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a pool of temporary instructors to work as lecturers in lieu of graduate student instructors (GSIs), should an opening arise, to teach lab sections primarily in general and organic chemistry courses and other courses if needed. This includes grading, attending GSI meetings, holding office hours, and assisting with other teaching duties as needed.

The Department is interested in candidates who will contribute to diversity and equal opportunity in higher education through their teaching or other related activities.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
A bachelor's degree, or equivalent international degree, or enrolled in a bachelor's degree program.

Additional qualifications (required at time of start)
A bachelor's degree, or equivalent international degree, and authorization to work in the U.S. is required by date of hire.

Preferred qualifications
Experience in teaching chemistry.
