The NTU theoretical and computational plasma physics group is seeking to hire a research fellow to work on the simulation of energetic-particle-driven instabilities in fusion plasmas.
Key Responsibilities:

Understand the role of energetic particles and resonant magnetic perturbations in plasma instabilities

Perform numerical simulations of energetic-particle-driven instabilities using a plasma simulation code

Benchmark the result with standard cases and literature
-
Analyze the data and draw a relationship. Conduct a parameter scan to quantify the relationship.

Derive a reduced model for physical understanding or compare to experimental data
Job Requirements:

Ph.D. in plasma physics, computational mathematics, or other related fields

Research experience in plasma physics and/or numerical simulation

Strong track record in terms of publications

Experience in high-performance computing is favourable
