A 12-month postdoctoral fellowship will be awarded to work on a joint research project between the following Brazilian universities: UFMG, UFES, UFRGS, Unicamp, and Unisinos. The work location is preferably at UFMG in Belo Horizonte, but may be in one of the other partner cities. The selected candidate will work with researchers from the consortium. The cities selected are: Belo Horizonte-MG, Vitória-ES, Porto Alegre-RS, and Campinas-SP.
The fellowships are part of the project "Programming, Orchestration, and Virtualization in 5G Networks" (PORVIR-5G), based at UFMG, which aims to develop new architectures and mechanisms to improve 5G networks in general. The postdoctoral candidate will work on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning in the orchestration of 5G, B5G, and 6G networks, as well as network slicing and virtual network programming. Positions are open to Brazilians and international applicants. Selected applicants receive funding from FAPESP (Fapesp) for a Postdoctoral Fellowship of R$12,570.00 per month and a Technical Reserve equivalent to 10% of the annual grant amount to cover unforeseen expenses directly related to research activities. Travel support is also provided to the city where they will work.
