West Virginia University Institute of Technology (WVU Tech), a divisional four-year campus of West Virginia University (WVU) located in southern West Virginia (Beckley), is currently inviting applications for the following employment opportunity:
The Department of Mathematics within the Leonard C. Nelson College of Engineering and Sciences, seeks to hire for a full-time, non-tenure-track position at the rank of either Teaching Instructor or Teaching Assistant Professor of Mathematics, depending on qualifications. The position is a 9-month renewable appointment and is benefits-eligible. The successful candidate will teach mathematics courses for the baccalaureate programs in engineering, mathematics, sciences, business and humanities, and will serve on university committees.
WVU Tech is a regional division of the West Virginia University system and is located in Beckley, West Virginia. WVU Tech is ranked first in the state for return on investment, and seventh in the nation in annual ROI for students paying in-state tuition. A minimum of a Master’s degree in Mathematics is required for the rank of Teaching Instructor. A minimum of a Ph.D is required for the rank of Teaching Assistant Professor. Commitment to teaching excellence, responsiveness to student needs, and good communication skills are essential. An ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about teaching freshman level classes.
