Applications are invited from qualified candidates for a Postdoctoral Research Scientist position in the Lin Research Group at the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Purdue University in Indianapolis. The lab is part of Purdue University but is located adjacent to Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis and is affiliated with Indiana University Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center. Our research focuses on designing multifunctional polymeric biomaterials, including hydrogels, nanoparticles, and cell surface coatings, for releasing therapeutically relevant agents and for delivering adult, stem, and progenitor cells for tissue engineering and regenerative medicine applications. Our research projects are highly interdisciplinary and integrate knowledge from polymer chemistry and engineering, bioconjugate chemistry, biochemistry, cell and molecular biology, and immunology. For this position, we are looking for a post-doc level research scientist with interests and experience in developmental cell and molecular biology and stem cell differentiation.
Candidates should hold a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry and Biochemistry, Cell & Molecular Biology, or other stem cell-related fields. In addition to traditional cell and molecular biology techniques, we are particularly interested in scientists with a strong background in single-cell sequencing, transcriptome, proteome, and next-gen sequencing. Candidates should have excellent oral and written communication skills and have experience/interest in mentoring graduate and undergraduate students. Interested individuals should prepare application materials, including (1) a cover letter summarizing past research experience, future research interests, and career plan and (2) a detailed CV with a list of publications and names of at least 3 references. Please email the application materials to Prof. Chien-Chi Lin (lincc@iupui.edu).
