Job Summary:
The department of Biological Sciences at Bethel University invites applications for up to 3 faculty positions to support our highly successful and robust pre-health care programs. The positions include opportunities for full-time tenure track positions as well as non-tenure track Associate Faculty or Clinical Faculty positions and will begin August 2022 or later. We are seeking candidates that hold an appropriate academic or clinical terminal degree in a variety of fields who are interested in teaching courses in anatomy, physiology, or neuroscience. Candidates with clinical experience are encouraged to apply and prior teaching experience is a desirable added qualification.

● Be committed to excellence in teaching and mentoring undergraduate majors and non-majors in a liberal arts setting.
● Engage in ongoing professional and/or scholarly development, and lead a research program involving undergraduates.
● Have the ability to teach a variety of courses commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications including introductory biology courses, anatomy, physiology, and/or neuroscience, as well as upper-level biology courses.
● Promote culturally competent content, research and pedagogy that prepare students for effective service functioning in increasingly diverse environments.
Responsibilities:
Teaching is the primary responsibility of faculty. The normal teaching load consists of 7 courses during each academic year. Both classroom and laboratory instruction count toward that total. The successful candidate will teach core and elective courses at all levels for Biology and related majors. Additional duties include service opportunities (academic advising, university committee service, and involvement at the departmental level), as well as the potential to mentor undergraduates in research and/or internship experiences.
Experience:
All candidates who have completed appropriate academic or clinical terminal degrees will be considered. Prior teaching experience and/or postdoctoral research or clinical work is desirable; evidence of ongoing professional and/or scholarly development preferred. Applicants with laboratory or clinical research experience are encouraged to apply.
Education:
PhD., MD, or equivalent terminal degree in a variety of fields. Preference will be given to candidates with degrees, scholarly, or clinical work in the fields of Anatomy, Physiology or Neuroscience.
