The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Auburn University is seeking to fill a nine-month tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin August 16, 2021. Duties include establishing an independent research program in Mathematics and teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels. We seek applicants who specialize in Probability Theory and Stochastic Processes, with proven expertise in Mathematical Finance or Applications in Science or Engineering or in teaching undergraduate courses in interdisciplinary areas such as Actuarial Science.

The department has a PhD program and various MS programs, including a new MS program in Data Science. It has around 50 mathematicians/statisticians and more than 120 graduate students engaged in research in a wide variety of areas in mathematics and statistics. Auburn University’s strong research programs in a variety of areas present many opportunities for interdisciplinary research and for participation in its various multidisciplinary programs.
