Job Description

The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in Bio-cheminformatics within the Department of Chemistry, College of Science. We seek an innovative and motivated scholar with strong expertise in cheminformatics, bioinformatics, and machine learning applications in biochemistry or medicinal chemistry. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence, student mentorship, and research innovation, with the ability to develop an active, externally funded research program that complements the department’s strengths in biochemistry, molecular modelling, drug discovery, and omics-based research.

Responsibilities:

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, and Cheminformatics. • Mentor and guide graduate students in research projects and thesis supervision.

• Develop and revise courses integrating computational and experimental approaches in biochemistry. • Provide tutoring, academic counselling, and assess student coursework.

• Design assessment processes to enhance student performance.

• Engage in collaborative research work with external researchers and support colleagues in research and co-curricular activities.

• Contribute to departmental, college, and university service activities.

Minimum Qualification

- Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, Chemoinformatic, Computational Biochemistry, or a closely related field. - At least two years of teaching experience in higher education.

Preferred Qualification

• A strong track record of research publications in Scopus indexed and Q1 journals.

• Demonstrated experience in data analysis tools and omics-based software.

• Experience in securing research grants and supervising students.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills and a commitment to academic excellence.
