Research theme area:

Heterogeneous Catalysis: Tandem conversion of ethane and CO2 into high added value products

Abstract:

The candidate will collaborate with the Project “Tandem Conversion of Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) and CO2” and with researchers from the project NSF/CISTAR- FAPESP-RCGI- Research Centre for Geenhouse Gas Innovation of POLI-USP at the University of São Paulo. Summary of the program and projects can be found at the RCGI website (http://www.rcgi.poli.usp.br/).
The aim of this post-doctoral position is to have a professional with knowledge in heterogeneous catalysis and more specifically in the process Tandem Conversion of ethane and CO2 to produce aromatics hydrocarbons.

Description:

The applicant will contribute in line with the main objectives of the project:
1. Developing active and selective heterogeneous solid catalysts to tandem conversion of ethane and CO2 to produce aromatic hydrocarbons. The processes to be studied are related to EDH/EDA (ethane dehydrogenation and ethane dehydroaromatization).
2. Characterization of solid catalysts by physical-chemical techniques. It is important to have knowledge in spectroscopic techniques like DRIFTS, RAMAN, XPS, and in gas chromatography and mass spectrometry.

Requirements to fill the position:

This project would be well-suited to a highly motivated candidate requiring experience in preparation and characterization of the heterogeneous catalysts and proficiency in English is required.
- The postdoc candidate should hold a PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or has experience in Heterogeneous Catalysis.

Funding Notes: This Postdoc fellowship is funded by FAPESP. The fellowship will cover a standard maintenance stipend of R$ 8.479,20 (Reais) per month.
