The University of Alabama in Huntsville is accepting applications for one regular full-time position of Postdoctoral Research Assistant to with in the Center for Plasma and Aeronomic Research for two years with the potential for renewal. The candidate will carry out sponsored research on the corresponding analysis of available remote-sensing observations of the active region evolution associated with eruptive events, including both ground-based and space-born observations. The research methodology includes numerical simulations/modeling of solar active region magnetic field topology and more sophisticated MHD simulation codes.
Qualifications
- PhD in Space Science, Physics, Astronomy or Astrophysics is required.
- 2 – 2 1/2 years of full-time verifiable research work experience in heliophysics or astrophysics
- Completion of PhD at time of hire is required
- Experience with remote-sensing solar observations is desired.
Conditions:
The duration is two years with the potential for renewal. Salary will follow the UAH standard for post-doctoral scholars and will scale with applicant’s experience.
