We are looking for motivated graduate students in Master of Science at the Department of Wildlife, Sustainability, and Ecosystem Sciences, Tarleton State University starting Summer or Fall 2020. Upon the situation, he or she can start earlier than summer 2020. The graduate student will be hired as a research assistant in Dr. Eunsung Kan’s Laboratory (https://sites.google.com/site/eunsungkan/). Highly competitive compensations will be provided.

The RA should have a B.S. in biology, microbiology, chemistry, biochemistry, environmental science, environmental engineering, agricultural science, and any relevant disciplines. Any laboratory, research and intern experiences would be preferred.

The research assistants will conduct a research project in one of following topics (not limited to): 1) Applications of biochar for environmental remediation including removal of heavy metals, antibiotics, persistent contaminants, and microbial pathogens in soil and water, 2) Biochar for agricultural applications including soil fertility, plant growth, and microbial communities in soil, and 3) Reuse of wastewater for agricultural irrigation.
