Join our innovative research team at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS) as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the cutting-edge fields of semiconducting materials, solar energy conversion, and 3D-printed microfluidic fuel cells. This exciting position focuses on advancing the development of microfluidic photo fuel cells for the efficient oxidation of glycerol and simultaneous reduction of CO2. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in pushing the boundaries of sustainable energy technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Research and Development: Conduct pioneering research on designing, fabricating, and optimizing 3D-printed microfluidic photo fuel cells tailored for glycerol oxidation and concurrent CO2 reduction.

  2. Material Innovation: Explore novel semiconductor materials suitable for microfluidic applications, aiming to enhance the solar energy harvesting, performance, and durability of fuel cells.

  3. Photo(electro)catalyst Design: Design and evaluate photo(electro)catalysts for glycerol oxidation and CO2 reduction, aiming to achieve high catalytic activity and selectivity.

  4. Characterization Techniques: Utilize advanced analytical techniques to characterize the physical and electrochemical properties of the developed microfluidic fuel cells.

  5. Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams within the institution, fostering a synergistic environment for knowledge exchange and integrating diverse expertise.

  6. Publication and Dissemination: Prepare research findings for publication in peer-reviewed journals and present results at national and international conferences.

Desired Skills (not limited to):

  1. Ph.D. in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Expertise in photocatalysis, electrochemistry, fuel cells, and microfluidics.
  3. Experience with 3D printing technologies and materials.
  4. Strong background in catalyst design and characterization.
  5. Proven track record of scientific publications.
  6. Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  7. Demonstrated ability to work independently and drive research projects.
