Primary Purpose of Position
The primary purpose of the Postdoctoral Research Associate is to conduct research on projects related to cybersecurity with the Research Project Director. The research associate will work with another postdoc and several doctoral, master’s-level, and undergraduate research assistants, as well as an active community of scholars interested in cybersecurity, machine learning, human-computer interaction, social computing, and usable security. The position will have opportunities to mentor both grad and undergraduate students. The postdoc will receive mentoring and training to move onto the next stage of their career.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
The North Carolina A&T State University’s Secure & Usable Social Media and Networks (SUSMaN) Lab’s(https://anwar.ncat.edu) primary function is to conduct research with Prof. Mohd Anwar on projects related to cybersecurity. Prof. Anwar’s research studies various aspects of cybersecurity issues including threat detection and mitigation as well as policy compliance strategies. His transdisciplinary research approach applies methods from Artificial Intelligence and Human-Computer Interactions and theories from social and behavioral sciences. Dr. Anwar has recently been examining ways to improve compliance with security updates for software in a personal computing context.
