Job Description Summary
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Auburn University invites applications for a twelve month, non-tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant Research Professor in the area of quantum chemistry. Duties include but are not limited to the development of ab initio propagator methods in molecular electronic structure theory, collaboration with students, postdoctoral fellows and visitors in the Ortiz research group, and management and administration of computational resources. A PhD in chemistry or a related field is required at the time of hire as well as three years of postdoctoral experience in the development and application of quantum chemistry methodology are required. The candidate selected for this potion must meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States on the date the appointment is scheduled to begin and must be able to continue working legally for the proposed term of employment. The candidate must possess excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
