Instructor will provide an overview of key concepts of Biochemistry (undergraduate level) in a six-week summer enrichment course for the Post-Baccalaureate Program at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. The summer enrichment course is non-credit bearing and independent of courses offered as part of the regular academic curriculum of the University. Instructor must be able to upgrade and effectively present course content from established curriculum in a manner that is inclusive for students from both science and non-science majors and that encourages all students’ participation. Class will consist of 20-25 students. Instructor will be responsible for administering a pretest, quizzes and post-test to gauge students’ level of knowledge, grading, returning student work promptly with feedback, maintaining grades using MS Excel, and submitting grade reports to the Program Coordinator upon course conclusion.
Master’s degree from an accredited institution in a science discipline related to the subject; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Teaching experience in related subject at an accredited institution of higher education; experience working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds.
