Job Description: Assistant Professor of Single Cell Biology

Position Overview: The Department of Biology at UAE University is seeking an Assistant Professor with a strong background in Single Cell Biology and a passion for both research and teaching. The successful candidate will join our dynamic and growing faculty team and contribute to advancing knowledge in the areas of genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and cell-cell interactions at the single cell level. The appointed individual will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality education to students while conducting cutting-edge research that aligns with the department's vision and the College of Science's commitment to excellence.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Research: Develop and lead an independent and innovative research program focused on Single Cell Biology, with an emphasis on genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and cell-cell interactions. Publish high-impact research papers in reputable peer-reviewed journals, contributing to the scientific community's understanding of single cell biology and related fields. Collaborate with other faculty members, research teams, and interdisciplinary groups to foster a collaborative research environment. Seek external funding and grants to support research endeavors and promote research growth within the department.

2. Teaching and Mentorship: Deliver engaging and effective undergraduate and graduate-level courses in Cell Biology, as with emphasis on as related topics in genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics. Develop and update course content to align with the latest scientific advancements and ensure the courses' relevance and applicability. Provide mentorship and guidance to undergraduate and graduate students, encouraging their academic and research growth. Supervise and mentor graduate students in their research projects and thesis work.

3. Service and Engagement: Participate actively in departmental, college, and university committees and initiatives that contribute to the academic community's growth and advancement. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the department's curriculum, research programs, and academic standing. Engage in outreach activities that promote the department, college, and university's mission to the broader community.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Cell Biology, or a related field, with a specialization in Single Cell Biology or a closely related area. A strong record of research accomplishments demonstrated by high-quality publications in reputable scientific journals, with a focus on single cell genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, or related areas. Experience with cutting-edge techniques and methodologies in Single Cell Biology research. Demonstrated expertise in analyzing large-scale single cell datasets and integrating multi-omics data. Previous experience in teaching and a commitment to providing exceptional education at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Ability to mentor and guide students in their academic and research pursuits. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse academic environment. A proven track record of securing research funding or the potential to secure external funding for research projects.

Minimum Qualification

Ph.D. in Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Cell Biology, or a related field, with a specialization in Single Cell Biology or a closely related area.

Preferred Qualification

Ph.D. in Cell Biology, with a specialization in Single Cell Biology or a closely related area.
