I am looking for PhD students / Post-Doctoral fellows for theoretical work for on several projects:
1. Hot electron generation at high intensities – the project involves calculations of electronic rate equations coupled to the Maxwell and heat equations based on a new theoretical model. Applications include photo-catalysis, nonlinear optics, detection, up-conversion, photoluminescence etc..
2. Highly efficient computations of complicated effects in nanophotonic systems – including thermal emission from metamaterials, dipole-dipole interactions, etc. using a new exact spectral method.
Prior experience in plasmonics and/or nonlinear optics and/or solid state physics, numerical/perturbation methods is an advantage.
