We are looking for a Project Officer to join a newly established research group investigating the genetic and developmental origins of the human brain. This role offers close mentorship and hands-on training in advanced experimental techniques, including stem cell culture, CRISPR-based perturbation screens, and single-cell genomics. While the position includes general lab support duties, its core purpose is to prepare the candidate for long-term scientific growth—including potential admission into NTU’s Ph.D. program. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in wet-lab experiments including stem cell culture, CRISPR editing, molecular cloning, and imaging

  • Help maintain shared lab reagents and support common protocols used across projects

  • Receive individualized training in core molecular biology techniques and experimental design

  • Participate in data collection and analysis under guidance from the PI and senior lab members

  • Contribute to lab organization, procurement, and safety documentation as part of a collaborative team

  • Take intellectual ownership of a focused mini-project aligned with the lab’s research goals

  • Prepare for potential transition into the SBS PhD program by building a strong technical and conceptual foundation in modern biological research

  • Strong interest in pursuing graduate study and a long-term research career

  • Prior laboratory experience (e.g., coursework, UROPs, final year projects) preferred

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to learn complex protocols quickly

  • Conscientious, reliable, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
