The researcher will be appointed for a year, with possible one year renewal for up to two more years, dependent on availability of funding and sufficient progress. The researcher will be focused on experimental work related to the physics and chemistry of wetting, adhesion, and mechanics of soft surfaces. The candidate should have a strong interest and background in soft matter physics and mechanics, polymer science, and/or interfacial phenomena. The successful candidate will have a PhD in polymer/materials science, physics, mechanical engineering, or a related area. Experience with confocal and optical microscopy, atomic force microscopy, rheometry, and soft materials preparation would be useful. Interested candidates should send a short statement on past/current research, a CV, and contact information for references to Jonathan.Pham@uky.edu.
