Position description
The Department of Geography at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for a pool of qualified temporary instructors to teach a range of courses in both human geography and physical geography should an opening arise during Summer Session or the regular academic year.
General Duties: In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties may include holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g. syllabus), writing exams, and managing GSIs.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required at time of application)
Minimum qualification required to be considered an applicant for the position is completion of at least a Master's degree (or equivalent international degree) by time of application.
Additional qualifications (required at time of start)
For those who are not US citizens or permanent residents, a legal permit that allows work in the United States (such as a US Visa that allows employment) is required by the start date of the position. The department is unable to provide a visa/work permit.
Preferred qualifications
A PhD (or equivalent international degree) and prior teaching experience.
