The Qin Lab at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences is seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated postdoctoral research associate to spearhead a NIH funded investigation directly alongside a principal investigator with 20+ years experience dedicated to nurturing young scientists.

The lab’s work focuses on temperature-sensitive ion channel structure and function. We study the channels in native and artificially constructed environments using a variety of advanced biophysical techniques (patch-clamp, cryo-EM, fluorescence spectroscopy, etc). Previous experience in related areas, for example, electrophysiology, protein purification, structural biology or other biophysics, is preferred but not required. The PI is committed to training, and will spend ample time orienting the candidate to these skills. The lab is renowned for its state-of-the-art techniques (eg: ultra-fast temperature clamp in a controlled cell environment) and will supply the candidate with abundant exposure to cutting-edge techniques.

This position serves as an ideal launchpad for recent graduates looking to pursue an academic career and will provide ample opportunities to lead several high-impact projects as primary author. The candidate will also receive direct mentorship from a senior PI and gain access to world-leading research expertise. For more information about the lab, research or Dr. Qin, please visit: Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences
