Term: 1-year contract with potential for renewal (maximum of 2 years)
Description: The Duval Lab at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) has an open postdoctoral research position in the area of membrane-based medical isotope purification. This project focuses on developing new acid- and radiation-stable membranes for purifying accelerator-produced Ac-225 (supported by the Department of Energy). The postdoctoral researcher will lead the efforts on ligand synthesis, membrane modification and characterization (physical and chemical). In addition to cutting-edge research opportunities, this position offers networking opportunities with collaborators and advisors at Argonne National Laboratory.
A successful candidate will be able to work with a diverse group of researchers and independently set and achieve research goals.
Qualifications: The applicant must have a Ph.D. in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science or a related discipline before the start date. Applicants must be willing to mentor graduate students and work in a highly collaborative research group. There is no citizenship requirement for this position.
Applicants with experience in organic synthesis, solid-phase synthesis or polymer and monomer synthesis are strongly encouraged to apply. No experience with radiochemistry is required – we can teach you what you need to know!
