The Physics Department at Auburn University is seeking a highly qualified individual for a Lecturer position. This is a nine-month, non-tenure track appointment. There will be opportunities for additional salary for summer teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to: (1) teach introductory undergraduate courses in physics, (2) interact with other faculty and staff to enhance pedagogical efforts in undergraduate teaching, and (3) supervise graduate teaching assistants. Opportunities to teach more advanced courses will be available based on appropriate qualifications. The Department of Physics at Auburn University consists of 30 faculty, approximately 65 graduate students, and 60 undergraduate physics majors. About 2,000 students are taught introductory physics each semester. The department cares deeply about teaching and learning and uses evidence-based research to drive improvements in classroom best practices.
